Our Mission
Pathway connects curious students with working professionals for structured, meaningful career-shadowing experiences. We believe that seeing a career in action — not just reading about it — is one of the most powerful tools for informed decision-making.
Why we built this
Too many people spend years studying for a career only to discover — once they're in the role — that it's nothing like what they imagined. The gap between how a profession is portrayed and what it actually looks like day to day can be enormous.
Career shadowing closes that gap. But access to shadowing has always depended on who you know. A student whose parent works in medicine can arrange a hospital visit. A student without those connections cannot.
Pathway changes that. We've built a platform where any professional can list a structured shadowing experience, and any student can apply — regardless of their background or network.
What we stand for
Safety
Every host is manually vetted before they can list an experience. Shadowing takes place in professional settings only — never private homes or unsupervised locations.
Structure
Experiences on Pathway are not ad-hoc visits. Hosts are required to provide a clear agenda and defined learning outcomes so students always know what they'll gain.
Accessibility
Career shadowing has historically been reserved for those with the right connections. Pathway levels the playing field — anyone can apply, and there are no fees for students.
